Upgrade of IAEA recommended data of selected nuclear reactions for production of PET and SPECT isotopes

An IAEA research project was dedicated to the compilation, evaluation and recommendation of cross-section data for accelerator production 11C, 13N, 15O, 18F, 64Cu, 124I positron-emitting radionuclides clinically used PET imaging, two gamma emitters, 81Rb 123I, in SPECT imaging. Cross sections 19 charged-particle induced reactions that can be employed radionuclide were evaluated including uncertainties. The resulting reference obtained from Padé fits selected corrected experimental data, integral thick target yields subsequently deduced. Uncertainties fitted results estimated via a least-squares method with addition 4% assessed systematic uncertainty uncertainty. Experimental also compared comprehensive predictions available TENDL library reflects current status theoretical modelling.
